Religious Education (RE) is an important curriculum subject. It is important in its own right, and also makes a unique contribution to the spiritual, moral, social and cultural development of pupils and supports wider community cohesion.

Dagenham, London and the United Kingdom have a rich heritage of culture and diversity. We all live in an increasingly global and interdependent world. Religion and belief for many people forms a crucial part of their culture and identity.

To be successful citizens in our society we need to know and understand the religious beliefs of other around us and across the world. In this way, RE makes an essential contribution to the delivery of our school curriculum aims.

RE at Richard Alibon is based on the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham syllabus published in 2020.
