We live in an amazing, diverse human and natural world. We want our children to respect it, understand it and have a sense of awe and wonder about some of the places they learn about.

The intent of our Geography Curriculum is to inspire children’s curiosity and interest in exploring the world that we live in and its people. It will develop the children’s respect for the human and natural world and make them want to protect its future.

We intend to equip children with geographical skills to develop their knowledge through studying places, people, natural and human environments.

We will deliver the aims of the national curriculum to:

  • Inspire in pupils a curiosity and fascination about the world and its people
  • Ensure pupils know about diverse places, people, resources, natural and human environments including their defining physical and human characteristics
  • Develop an understanding of the Earth’s key physical and human processes including use of landscapes and environments
  • Develop the skills to be successful a geographer:
