BD CAN – (Barking and Dagenham Citizens Alliance Network) – is a new support network created by the council with local voluntary and faith organisations to help people in need at this difficult time.
Since it started BD CAN has achieved so much, including:
Helping with over 670 requests for support so far, and preparing over 1,000 food parcels to help local people.
Reaching out to nearly 7,000 of our most vulnerable residents and speaking to nearly 3,000 of our more vulnerable council tenants to make sure they’re OK.
Encouraging 320 people to volunteer to help support the initiative.
We really appreciate all the great work that has gone into this, from the organisations involved through to all the volunteers who have given up their time to help those who are most vulnerable.
