Last week, all children in foundation stage received a visit from some reptiles and insects. This visit was to bring a ‘wow factor’ to reception’s new topic, ‘Dinosaurs’. This visit hooked the children into their topic for this half term. They were taught all about how these particular reptiles would have been roaming the earth at the same time as dinosaurs. We also looked at features of lizards and could make links with the plates and spines that we believe that dinosaurs once had. The children learned about how evolution took place and how snakes have changed since those prehistoric times. The children left the school gates full of information and excitement for their new topic ahead.
