On Thursday 9th February , the whole school will be taking part in ‘Sign2Sing’.Many schools, choirs and clubs take part in this national event each year, and we are proud to be taking part this year.
What is Sign2Sing?
It is an event where all the children sing a song and sign in British Sign Language at the same time. You can practice this with your child leading up to the day if you wish. Just type ‘sign2sing 2017’ into youtube, and the song and tutorial video are all there. We have been having s much fun practising the sign language during our weekly singing assemblies!
Why are we taking part Sign2Sing?
We are raising money for the deaf charity ‘sign health’ which is a charity helping children and adults who are deaf or hearing impaired to have a better quality of life. Also, it is a great opportunity for our children to learn some BSL and to raise awareness of what life is like when you live with a hearing impairment or deafness.
Your child may wish to be sponsored for this event. Sponsorship forms were sent home last week.
Other information
Your child should have brought a letter home saying which colour top they should wear for the day.
