Year 1 this half term have been busy learning about our local area ‘Dagenham’ and have been visiting a range of different landmarks.

Last week they visited Oxlow Lane Baptist Church where Harry and John explained the basic Christian beliefs and the different jobs they carry out to support the community. Additionally we learnt about how their Sunday services are run each week and the range of activities they offer to families, children and homeless people. Harry also explained why they felt it was important for adults to be baptised rather than children and this was very insightful for the children.

The children had a walk around the whole church and were able to ask any questions they had.

We hope you enjoy our pictures!
