We wrote descriptive pieces of writing on Winter scenes, focusing on al the figurative language a descriptive devices we have been learning about in autumn term.

As I looked around, I felt the wind was trying to pull me back, trying to keep me in this frozen prison, This foreboding place took my energy as I tiredly stamped through this billowy white ocean. the snow was reaching my neck , Attempting to push it away but it was too powerful, trying to strangle me. The snow covered the tree soldiers were freezing while standing straight like statues in the Arctic air. As I looked ahead, a cottage was in front of me. It’s warm cosy glow coming from the windows made me want to go inside. As the wind began to get colder and colder my feet began to run, fighting the shivering, freezing snow…was I going to make it?

Off in the distance, I could hear a howling husky call their pack to come and nestle to keep warm. The ice cracked and growled as my feet stomp through the thick blanket of snow. Goosebumps pricked up on my arms as he whirling winds bit me.

As I walked through this cold, lonely ice desert, I felt like it would never end. Suddenly, a minuscule glimmer of light hit my eye. I walked more and the light grew bigger an brighter. Had I found a safe place?

As I walked through this thick ice monster dragging me down slowly, I saw a small wooden cabin. The excitement was pulling me in and I thought I would burst with joy.
