As part of remembrance around Richard Alibon, Year 2 and Year 3 were lucky enough to have Sarah Stevenson from the British Legion come and speak to us about who the British legion are and the work they do.
We were told about how the poppy was introduced as a way to raise funds for the Legion as well as the the impact of poetry during the WW1.
In particular ‘Flanders field’ by Lieutenant-Colonel John McCrae.
