Reception thoroughly enjoyed our trip to Thorndon park in Brentwood. The children have been hooked into their new topic of ‘Traditional Tales’ with our story trail. We had Phil McDermott greet us in the woods and take us on a journey through searching for treasure, listening to stories whilst sitting on tree branches, building dens and homes for the Gruffalo and working as teams to find hidden characters. The fantastic vocabulary that was used and great team spirit that was evident in each class definitely made it a trip to remember.
