In RE we have been learning all about Islam. We thought carefully about the 5 Pillars of Islam and why these are important to Muslims. To further our knowledge we also learnt about how often and why Muslims pray, alongside what a Mosque looks like and what happens inside.
Some of us had never been inside a Mosque before… we soon changed that!
We looked at the dome and discussed why it is an important and beautiful feature.
We really enjoyed looking at the patterns on the walls. 
We learnt all about how Muslims wash before they pray. 
They keep lots of books inside the Mosque. Did you know some of them are written in Arabic? 
We walked through the steps and positions that a Muslim child might copy if they were praying.
