Monday 16th January marked the beginning of International Week at Richard Alibon. Year 4’s country of focus was Australia. We looked at many different areas of Australia, ranging from the Native Aboriginals to more modern and famous Australian people.

Native Australians, known as Aboriginals, did not have language as we have today. They would use images and symbols to tell stories.

We wrote letters to pen pals in Australia, telling them all about our daily routines in school and what we had been currently learning about.

We looked at famous natural landmarks in Australia and used oil pastels to create our own versions of it.

Do you know any other facts about Australia?

To mark the end of International Week, Year 4 invited parents and carers to come and see all the fun and interesting facts and information they learnt about Australia.
